Anacaona’s Lost Paradise: NYT/Kujawinski’s Media Lies
“US Embassy sends its legal bandit, Peter Kujawinski, off with a NYT propaganda piece uplifting UN/MINUSTAH’s great Haiti stay and clapping for the US occupation and fake elections as the new normal
When, since December 5, 1492, was Haiti ever a “paradise” for its masses?
But don’t waste your time giving former U.S. embassy hit man, Peter Kujawinski, a reality check. He sees no Bush regime change in 2004; no current US-EU occupation behind United Nation’s proxy guns, the NGO poverty pimps, and dirty United Nation’s cholera. Sees not the over 10,000 UN-cholera deaths, no CIA-orchestrated Narco State, no Martelly legal bandits, no. He sees Haiti closer to being a “White Pearl, Again.” Yep, he longs for a Rochambeau lost paradise in Haiti. Read, “In Haiti, Tracing a Paradise Lost” by Peter Kujawinski for New York Times on December 4, 2017. It bears the odious stench of U.S. imperialism.
The New York Times editors see Western tourism as development for the Black nation. You know, where Blacks are good as museum pieces who don’t talk back and agree to being props, maids, butlers, servants and semen receptacles for Northern tourists. Yep, like in the Dominican Republic, Bahamas, Jamaica, to name a few. No, Kujawinski that’s not normal and cause for Black happiness. Just Satan’s glee. Ibo Granmoun lakay Ibo. See, Èzili Dantò at Tourism is not development: Haiti, Liberate Yourself.
The New York Times publishers won’t see the squinting glee of bi-partisan tyranny in Haiti. Won’t register, when they practically title their racist article “Haiti, the Lost Paradise” that somewhere up front and center is former presidents’ Bill Clinton of Rwanda genocide’s neglect and his Haiti agriculture destruction and George W. Bush of Katrina hurricane’s neglect and his bloody 2004 Bush Regime Change in Haiti. Won’t associate that both these U.S. presidents were appointed by President Barack Obama as joint head of Haiti earthquake “relief.” An unbroken line of deceit and destruction in Haiti going back to the Bringers of Doom Columbus Discoverers. See, Haiti For Sale: Vision of Plantation Haiti – A White Pearl, Again! by Èzili Dantò, 2010 and Clinton Foundation AIDS Program Distributed ‘Watered-Down’ Drugs To Third World Countries.
I truly wasn’t going to waste my time with this ex-U.S. Embassy functionary’s racist missive, bold blindness and mediocre attempt at cleaning up the image of dirty MINUSTAH and the U.S.-NGO occupation for all and sundry right in the middle of the New York Times. Not on the anniversary of the Christopher Columbus genocide in Haiti. See, Remembering Queen Anacaona and Cacique Hatuey of Haiti.
But the pathetic vampires are always giving us work to do. And, it’s our duty to recall it is December 5th again. Queen Anacaona, her husband Cacique Caonabo, both were brutalized and assassinated by the Bringers of Doom Discovers’ crew, along with Cacique Hatuey of Haiti/Ayiti and they still live in us, are called up whenever anyone says Ayiti/Haiti. We are Ayiti. What’s left behind. And there’s no way to not reMEMBER and actually TRACE the real paradise lost before the Columbus Bringers of Doom Discovers arrived. The interminable Ayi Kwei Armah two thousand seasons since.
Nor that today the Ayisyen-Tainos may be gone but Desalin and the Black generals avenged them. And we stand today as the Ayisyen-Africans still living and surviving through the MAAFA – the continuing holocaust that Peter Kujawinski and the New York Times’ editors publishing “In Haiti, Tracing a Paradise Lost” won’t ever see.
The Ginen Watchers always see. We are not clothed in Kujawinski/NYT’s white visions and brutal dreams.
For us, the white ideas of apartheid tourism is not our dream for Ayiti/(Haiti). The Ancestors rejected Bourgeois Democracy and Freedom where unlimited wealth, prosperity and beauty lives in the same (Dixieland) space as slavery, rape, pillage, ethnic cleansing and genocide – mostly mass Black agony, displacement, disenfranchisement and genocide.
The New York Times‘ December 4, 2017 opinion piece, titled “Haiti, Tracing a Paradise Lost” is such a obvious propaganda hit piece by a 2000-era U.S. Embassy hack to say how the United Nations/MINUSTAH and the current brutal U.S proxy occupation (from the 2004 removal of Aristide to the present) and their denial of basic human rights to the people of Ayiti is an IMPROVEMENT to the U.S.-supported brutal Duvalier occupation (1957-1986) without mentioning the UN pedophiles, sex rings, cholera, international cover up of the source for the cholera, the neoliberalism privatization of Haiti wealth, the taking of our lands, riches and offshore islands or the U.S.-UN fake elections since their removal of Aristide to put back in the neoDuvalierists-Legal Bandit/Men-in-Pink through USAID/CIA/Antonio Sola/consultant-created fake political pluralism, the Bigio-Mevs oligarchy‘s vote purchase/stuffing and the normal U.S-Euro fake elections the economic hit men call “democracy” and rule of law.”
Kujawinski is nothing more than a two-bit paid agent who doesn’t deserve that much attention. But since most NYT readers are fairly clueless about the colonial narrative that makes normal Western tourism, fascism, racist stereotypes and oppression in Haiti, they won’t know that the People’s Movement against dictatorship and imperialism, called the “Lavalas Movement” in the era Kujawinski was in Haiti was part of the long and perennial Haiti struggle against U.S. imperialism. It was President Aristide, backed by the anti-dictatorship Lavalas Movement, who first raised the minimum wage to the annoyance of U.S. diplomats; first made Kreyòl an official Haiti language to the annoyance of U.S. diplomats; first recognized Vodun on equal footing with the Catholics to the annoyance of U.S. diplomats; built more schools than any other previous presidents to the annoyance of U.S. diplomats; improved literacy of the masses to the annoyance of U.S. diplomats, and got politically sabotaged, blown to smithereens by a corporate media coup detat and then physically removed by U.S-Euro diplomats because he was the first Haiti president to request that France pay back the $21 billion dollar reparations it extorted from Haiti to pay off the French enslavers and human traffickers Haiti had overthrown.
Of course, the Lavalas Movement was sabotaged, vilified, filled-up with CIA informants and destroyed by imperial forces, Neoliberalism and this Kujawinski-diplomat’s sort of media lies and narratives. To the point that what remains is reduced to Fanmi Lavalas, an Aristide political party that’s but a shell. Fanmi Lavalas was heinously persecuted and fragmented until its now only a “moderate,” self-described middle ground voice, tired and complicit as Haiti is brutalized and endlessly raped by foreign military forces, U.S. occupation, fake elections, fake aid, UN-cholera and the UN-Paul Farmer high-tech drug dealers. This PAHO-WHO medical experimentation on starving Black people are euphemistically called “vaccinations.” The ethnic cleansing, social engineering consequences and bioterrorisms remain largely undetected and not reported. Playing the moderate both sides of the fence card is neither radical nor revolutionary. Nelson Mandela, for example, like Aristide was revolutionary and useful to global Black empowerment at a particular point, before the co-option. Time doesn’t freeze and stand still, no matter how badly the Imperialists want to use those it has co-opted and neutralized.
As usual, though, a new generation rises to free Haiti, to free Africa, moving towards our natural and primitive dignity, from one generation to the next. And no matter its name or era, the continuing Haiti revolution and struggle is what is responsible for people in Haiti having the small right to talk more freely than they had under the U.S.-supported Duvalier regime. The United Nations is an undemocratic, money-grubbing criminal organization that weaponizes benevolences and works for the United States and World War II Western powers with veto rights. In Haiti, it, along with the foreign Western diplomats, ambassadors, USAID and the U.S embassy destroy, not empower Haiti freedoms, economic and basic rights. You can take that to the bank. It’s not debatable.
Contrary to the U.N. Secretary-General’s partisan report cited by Kujawinski, no substantial headway was made because of the U.S. occupation behind U.N guns and the NGO poverty pimps since 2000 to the present. See here, here and here and the FreeHaiti photo essay: The Quiet Genocide in Haiti – How it is wielded from FDR to Obama; The United Nations, a criminal organization from Lumumba to Aristide.
The Haitian people’s constant struggle and Desalin Movement against white oppression and these U.S. embassy and diplomats’ fascism, apartheid, eugenics and racism, most recently during the Jean Bertrand Aristide 2000-era, it’s their triumphs over U.S.-Euro-sponsored Duvalier oppression that created the type of environment in which coup d’etat-contaminated collaborators like Pierre Esperance, the “friend” Kujawinski totes out as his guide through Haiti on this return visit, can afford to freely express their views today, and not worry about being shot at and or tortured at Fort Dimanche. (See, PM Yvon Neptune’s explosive and condemning August 23, 2004 letter from Prison to US Ambassador James Foley and Randall Robinson’s eyewitness (Frantz Gabriel) account of the abduction of President and First Lady Aristide of Haiti by the United States Special Forces.)
Contrary to the impression Kujawinski is trying to make about his benevolent works in Haiti, U.S. agents, economic hit men and diplomats like him in Haiti are known to the people of Haiti as the “Laboratory” for creating death squads, constant chaos, weaponized charity, destructive agriculture policies, bioterrorism, privatizations of Haiti resources to the multi-billionaire one-percent, and the colonial divide and conquer divisions to oppress and economically enslave the Black masses in Haiti. All, for a salary, just as dirty coins propels this Kujawinski travel piece for the New York Times.
The U.S. Embassy which employed the pathetic Kujawinski and his ilks today fought back and are still fighting back against universal economic development, dignity, social progress and Black human rights in Haiti. They fight our Black advancement every step of the way just as the mass incarceration system and the new Jim Crow authorities do against the Black masses in the United States.
Kujawinski’s hit piece won’t trace that truth for you. It casually extols the rapist and cholera-dirty MINUSTAH history in Haiti and neglects all mention of the U.S. Embassy’s 2004 removal of authentic electoral democracy for this current Clinton-Bush re-imaging of death squads (Philippe-Chamblain-BOID) and Narco-traffickers/money launderers ala Bosnia as George Soros and the poverty pimping NGO’s “civil society.” Yep, it’s a nice US embassy hit piece walking over the graves of so many Haitians who paid the ultimate price to fight back U.S. imperialism, its human rights and charitable industrial complex and, filthy media mouthpieces.
The New York Times has no shame. We’ve said this for fourteen years (here, here and here and here), starting with the bicentennial on January 1, 2004 when they had to retract their lie about the size of the crowd supporting president Aristide and the bicentennial. Their work and misinformed articles generally made the Haiti freedom fighters the bad guys and the dictators, Tonton Makouts and death squad leaders like Guy Philippe, Michel Martelly and accused money launderers like Jovenel Moise, the freedom fighters and good guys. Their purpose then as now was to minimize the popularity of the free Haiti movement and liberation struggle against imperialism – what Kujawinski and the US diplomats stand for in Haiti.
The racist, stereotypical imagery of the “insider” white narrator is an old dog no one tells these Neanderthals that no longer hunts. Neither does, the violent Haitians imagery. Haiti has less violence than most Caribbean “developed” and tourist destinations. Somebody please remind the NYT of the facts!
Their piece blithely talks on, and without any context, about the lack of Haiti institutions. Of course it’s not because of U.S. institutionalized economic and apartheid terrorism. No.
It’s the locals who don’t know how to rule themselves without the white hand and narratives of the Peter Kujawinski ilks.
The piece meanders through the body of Haiti, piercingly raping, poking along without pointing out the “Haiti is deforested lie,” without seeing USAID/US Embassy’s institutional and CIA violence and corruption is worst than anything the Black collaborators, their local employees and informants, could every conceive to do to their own alone.
The US-EU embassy plunders are invisible. In fact, the implication is the reader is supposed to feel sorry for the “bad memories” Kujawisnki lived through in the “2000-era” in Haiti. What? When Haiti was free? When he and his Embassy cohorts where financing death squad leader, Guy Philippe in the Dominican Republic to attack and kill Haiti policemen and civilians? The over 5,000 Haitians the U.S. embassy-created F.R.A.P.H death squad murdered from 1991 to 1994 wasn’t terror enough for Kujawinski to cry about. He came in the “2000-era” he says and we have a duty to recall the consequences that followed, from 2004 to 2006, added from 14,000 to 20,000 dead Haitians at the end of the Bush Jr’s coup d’etat lynching rope to put their Guy Philippe-Martelly-Boulos-Bigio neoDuvalierists back in power. But no, let’s cry for Kujawinski’s selective memory, the plutocrats’ constant impunity. Why not? We’re beasts of burden, no?
It’s the impervious white males who run the NYT and their Kujawinski opinion writers who are the ones with credible feelings important to the NYT audience, no?
Anyways, the article was racist, from the old- boys-network white male eyes, and spewed the “lily white clean hand” colonial stuff, unabated. See, for instance, One of the most repeated facts about Haiti is a lie.
It was on the pretext of making peace that the Columbus crew lured Caonabo and then his wive Queen Anacaona into a trap. Kujawinski continues the Columbus deceit with the powerful New York Times’s backing. Nothing new to us.
Here is what’s also not news to us at FreeHaiti this December day, 522 years after the European and white settler plunder and genocide began in the “Americas:”
A Hillary and Bill Clinton buddy and big Clinton Foundation donor, Digicel owner, Denis O’brien is under scrutiny for robbery in Jamaica. Haitians can relate. Go to: “Digicel Under Investigation For ‘Overcharging & Robbing’ Jamaicans.”
The Ayisyen-Taino, Cacique Caonabo, tore down Fort Navidad. From one generation to the next, we the Ayisyen-Africans commit to keep tearing it down. No white settler propaganda can mobilize the power to build Fort Navidad in Ayiti, the land of Desalin and Dantò, ever again.
Not as long as from one generation to the next, we honor and extend the collective soul of the African-Ayisyen warriors who were the first to put “Liberty for all” into application.
Today Èzili’s HLLN/Free Haiti, gives honor, rememberance, pours libation – jete dlo, jete dlo, jete dlo – for all the Taino-Ayisyen who came into contact with “civilization” on this date on December 5, 1492, 522-years ago and were exterminated because the Catholic Spanish and Catholic French deemed them savages with the enemy from within that had to be duly exorcised through their genocide. Bilolo pou Janjak Desalin who gave honor and respect by naming us Ayisyen, both to elevate Ancient Ginen and avenge the “Americas.”
Ayiti fights on….still, on this December 5, 2017, 522-years later.
“Ogou oooo, wa dèzanj, djab la di la manje mwen se pa vre. Se pa vre Timoun yo, se pa vre. Sa se blag Timoun yo, sa se jwèt. Gen Bon Dye, geyen lè sen yo. Djab la di l ap manje nou, se pa vre.”
